<p>Applying to Virginia Tech general engineering early decision and Purdue early action. Stats are as follows:</p>

<ol>
<li>Out of state - NC;</li>
<li>SAT Math - 730, Reading - 640</li>
<li>3.76 Unweighted GPA/4.40 Weighted</li>
<li>Class Rank - Top 5%</li>
<li>Rigor of class load - All Honors and AP</li>
<li>AP classes: Chemistry, Physics, Calc, English, US History, Econ (micro/macro), Biology;</li>
<li>Activities - Varsity/All Conference Golf, Northwestern Univ. Summer Leadership Inst.;
Volunteer work.</li>
</ol>

<p>Also applying early action at Purdue (West Lafayette) and NC State (safety). Would like to major in computer engineering (software). Both Purdue and Tech are great programs and I'd be happy with either.</p>

<p>Thoughts ???</p>

<p>Just went online and confirmed my early action decision (admission offered) for their Computer Science program (software engineering track). I’m waiting for my ED from Va Tech (engineering) along with NC State (early action engineering - safety school). Pretty confident now about Tech due to offer by Purdue. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.</p>

<p>My score was 540 for a total 1910 BUT, VA Tech doesn’t consider writing (only reading and math). Purdue took all three (R, M & W). As such, I feel pretty confident as my writing score was less than impressive. Still keeping fingers crossed till Thurs.</p>
