Class rank - 15% - 20% (class of roughly 775)
ACT - project 29-33
SAT (new) - projected equivalent of a 1400, around there
AP classes - five so far (Statistics, Euro, Bio, Literature, US History) Received 5s on both Euro and Stats sophomore year
Will have 10 or 11 APs by graduation
ECs
Traveling Basketball (9th)
Referee for children's Bball games (10th, 11th, [12th])
Job (3.5 months, 11th [12th, longer time])
Volunteer work at hospital, 75 hours (11th, [12th])
Piano for 10 years (9th, 10th, 11th, [12th]) passed various exams in theory and playing
Track (9th, 10th, 11th (L) [12th (L)])
Assume fairly good recs and essays</p>

<p>Wondering about chances and Vanderbilt, Emory, Tulane, University of the South, Miami (FL), UNC, Boston U, Syracuse, Davidson</p>

emory is really selective so it is hard to say anything on that
im sure u will get into atleast 3 of them so dont sweat it :)</p>

<p>Yeah I had the lettering times in 10th, but my school is so big...I didn't go to enough varsity meets. It was dumb.</p>

<p>Your GPA and rank might hurt you a little bit, but not so much that a great SAT can't make it up. So shoot for above 1400, if at all possible. The amount of AP's you've taken and your high scores are definitely a positive, but the EC's are a little weak. All in all, though, your chances are decent for most of those schools. They seem to be all match/reach sort of schools though, with the exception of UMiami (and I don't really know much about davidson and syracuse). So get some more safeties...</p>

<p>Emory is definitely not in a good part of the city.....they have ALOT of security around it so ur kinda in a bubble so to speak and cant really go off campus unless u wanna get shot.</p>

<p>Hard to say without SAT or ACT. Say you hit the magic 1400 then:
Vanderbilt- Reach
Emory- Definite reach
Tulane- Match
University of the South- Safety
Miami (FL)- Easy match
UNC- Big Reach
Boston U- Match
Syracuse- Match
Davidson- Reach</p>

<p>You might want a couple more ECs, I don't see any clubs/leadership.</p>

<p>yeah im joining a new club at our school soon if that matters. Leadership to me is ********, anyone can make their own club. ugh. Hey isn't syracuse avg GPA 3.5 and SAT 1300 something?</p>
