Chances Wash U

Sorry i already posted this but it wasn't getting responses. Figured id try again.

Hi, I am a white male attempting to transfer from Goucher College to a more prestigious school. I was wondering what my chances are. In high school my GPA was not very impressive. I had a 3.4 with about 4 AP's and a 1270 combined SAT. I also had a 670 SAT 2 English and a 740 SAT 2. In college I have done well. I have a 3.7 something GPA. (I am a freshman) With 3 A-s and an A. I am the head fundraiser for the Goucher Democrats. I am part of the literary magazine and the school newspaper. I have been very active with community service. I have gone on a work study program in cuba and I have worked for three years with an autistic child. I play for a club sports team. I have a good essay and really good teacher recs. My mother went to Wash U and I was wondering if it was a huge stretch to even apply there? My other question is, and this is pretty general, is it harder to transfer to an elite school or get in as a high schooler? Do they look at your college grades or your high school grades more? I am also wondering what some other good liberal arts schools in my range would be. I am looking for a school with 2-5 thousand students. I am very interested in political science. I was wondering if anyone could help me out on what good poli sci schools would be. Thanks a lot.

im no expert but it is a very big reach for washington u. maybe your mother being an alum might help but not that much.... and i believe some places are easier to transfer into. there is a lot of colleges that are just unsure of how well you will perform in their institution but after they see you can perform in the college environment they will take you.

ok thanks, could you reccomend some?

im applying to

case western reserve
lehigh
villanova
vanderbilt

i have the same SAT score and im on the lower side of all of these colleges. But if i keep my grades up in college i think i have a better chance of tranferring in.
