I will apply to these colleges without financial aid requests. Chances ppl?

I don't think i really need to say anything..your grades do most of the talking.

Competitive for sure.

do not apply to those schools
you have zero chance

No Chance Whatsoever

You definitely have very good chances. You're probably one of the stronger candidates from Australia.

"do not apply to those schools
you have zero chance" - Master

"No Chance Whatsoever" NJ HURRICANE

maybe I should just hang myself then... lol

Don't listen to them; they want your spot. You're highly competitive, especially with international student standing, and I'm going to bet that you'll get into at least one school you're applying for.

Also, CMU is totally easy to get into. =</p>

"I will apply to these colleges without financial aid requests." <-- actually, you would apply for financial aid. First of all, they do need-blind admissions, so if you're accepted, they'll evaluate you solely on your financial standing and not your grades or anything. Also, the admissions office doesn't know if you've applied for financial aid. And those schools are EXPENSIVE.

I thought international applicants are not viewed as need blind?

I'm pretty sure thats why internationals that need aid had better have cured cancer to get in to an Ivy?

I had a UPenn representative speak at my school, and she said that applications from interantionals were NOT need blind. The only exception, i believe, is MIT and Brown (i think)

Anyway, I will still have the resources to pay the massive fees these colleges demand without financial aid.

anyone else like to offer their opinions? maybe a percentage rate?

0 percent

You're screwed.

Master,NJ,dr10 you understand stand that no one finds your sarcasm funny right?

come on people, im serious!

From results alone, your chances are better than most. I am sure you already know about this (which was why a lot of people replied with sarcasm to your thread). All I can say is: you will definitely be accepted to some but not all. There are examples of people with perfect scores in everything but got rejected for HYPS and there are also examples of people with less impressive scores getting in. It's all about selling yourself. To your credit, I can say that you have won half of the battle (academics, ECs, etc), so props to you then. Therefore, rather than bothering yourself about this, why not focus more on the other half, your actual application (essays, recs, etc)? I know I should too. Hope this helps

thanks tomo88,

but could anyone give a percentage chance? thanks
