Some other things

I am worried primarily because I know UT is all about rank. I may be in the top 10% but I am almost certainly not going to be in the top 8%, which is why I am worried. Any help?

National Merit SF will get you in no doubt in my opinion.

I know UT says you can submit a letter of rec, but can you submit more than one?

You’re in. Just submit 1 LOR if you feel compelled to do so. If not, you’re in anyways. Hook 'em!

Don’t worry about rank, you’re in the top 10%! You should be proud! Although your SAT math doesnt match up with the rest of your scores. Overall you have a good chance.

I wouldn’t mention anything about young republicans lol…

Why? Do the adcoms discriminate on the basis of political persuasion?

Cybersailor, I don’t think they do. UT is a pretty liberal school, but I don’t think they care about your political affiliations. From what I have heard from friends at UT, the Republican/conservative groups on campus are pretty active. I think what matters more is the fact that you have a leadership position in the group!

If UT is an especially liberal school, then all the better, since I would be “diverse”.

Besides, I am not socially conservative. I am only fiscally conservative and foreign policy non-interventionist/isolationist.

You’re in! Congrats on your accomplishments future longhorn:)
