<p>TL;DR version: White Male from IL, 3.25GPA (Upward Trend), 25% rank, 2210 SAT, 2360 SATIIs, lots of APs, excellent recs, ok ECs, NMSF</p>

<p>Gender: Male
Race: White
State: Illinois</p>

<p>GPA: ~3.25UW, 3.8W (Upward trend)
Schedule: Very Rigorous
Suburban public HS (Not great, but not terrible either. Sends a few kids to top colleges each year)</p>

<p>Classes-5yrs Math, 4yrs English, 5yrs Science, 5yrs Social Studies/History, 2yrs Foriegn Language by the time I graduate. Also took a philosophy class for college credit over the summer (Elementary Logic), got an A.</p>

<p>Class Rank: ~25% (Not exactly sure)</p>

<p>SAT: 2210 total, retaking in Nov.

<p>I see the GPA is low compared to the SAT scores. Still i’d say youre good for the first 4, and USC is a math, while WUSTL is gonna be a reach (Im only saying this because i hear that almost 99% of incoming students are top 10% of their graduating class)</p>

<p>I do not know much about WUSTL, but the rest i would say you are match/ possibly very low reach for Americanand USC.</p>

<p>I think you are a strong candidate for U of Rochester, American U, U of Minnesota, and U of Illinois. USC, Washington U at St. Louis can be a little bit tougher but you are still a strong candidate for these schools. You SAT is really strong, no need to retake. You can invest your time in polishing your essays.</p>

<p>I don’t know too much about the first four schools, but from what I’ve heard, your test scores are definitely in their range. The only thing is the low GPA - but the fact that you show an upward trend is definitely good. I think you’re in at the first four…USC/WashU might be reaches because 3.25 is wayy under their statistics. As a white male, you don’t really stand out either…so my advice would be to have great recs and essays if you want a shot.</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure you could get in all those places. The only problem is your gpa.</p>

<p>You should be set for all of them, except Wash U in St Louis may be hard to get in for you.</p>

<p>It would help if you told us what you got in all your math class(es)/econ class(es) because if those are high and you’re applying for that as your major, then that might make your bad GPA less of a negative (even though the other classes you got a bad grade in will obviously still have some sway).</p>

<p>You seem set for all except USC and Wash U. Only factor is your GPA that’s holding you back. Maybe you could explain why (if there was an event that hindered your grades) in the additional information section. Good luck!</p>

<p>I think you are in everywhere except wash u in stl, where it might be a reach.
apply to some other great schools so you can have variety in reaches.
otherwise, you are a solid candidate and those are some good schools you have there.</p>
