This past summer I was arrested for possession of one joint. It was a misdemeanor charge, but the charges were dropped. Essentially, I have never been convicted of anything, however on the Duke transfer supplement it asks "have you ever been arrested? If yes, please explain." Should I specifically mention the charges, or should I simply say I was charged with a misdemeanor, however the charges were dropped. Does anyone know what the least detrimental response would be?

Who was your lawyer the first time around on this.........your age, the record, fines, remediation....so much else to know. Good Luck.

Probably dont even mention it

if you werent convicted you have committed no crime. would it be a lie to say you havent been arrested, kind of. but i think if you say you have been that hurts regardless of conviction or not (bill clinton impeached but not convicted, oj simpson not convicted...do you consider them to be perfect citizens?) just be careful

exactly, just saying anything about ARRESTED + BLUNT in teh same sentence raises 100 red flags... the actual result becomes irrelevant

if you werent charged/conviceted with anything , why give them unnecesary information...bend the rules a little bit because you shouldnt get in trouble for somthing that you know admissions office WILL PUT OUT OF CONTEXT

Are you sure that what you went through was an arrest?

beprepn
