Chances with Dec 2 SAT 1 (for 2008)

Chance me please! Just got my SAT scores back..a bit disappointed I guess

SAT: Math - 690, Writing - 590 (grrr.), Critical Reading - 650 (1930, single sitting....should I take it again?) (1340 CR+M)
Rank: 1-2/60
GPA: 4.00 UW
Ethinicity: Jewish Caucasian born and raised in South America

All IBs most rigorous load (predicted 42/45)

EC's:

Student Council
Tennis
Kayake
Volleyball
French
Hebrew
Several MUNs

and much more...

Languages: Fluent in English, French, Portuguese and Hebrew and good knowledge of Spanish

Both parents are professors

Recommendations should be outstanding, essays should be great

Chance me for:

Stanford SCEA (legacy)
Princeton

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Brandeis

UTexas - Austin
University of Colorado - Boulder

Prospect Major: Political Science w/ Double Major in Geography/Geophysics

(You've got time to improve those SAT scores)

But with the current ones:

Stanford (legacy, scea) - reach
Princeton - Big Reach

University of Michigan: Match
Brandeis: Slight Reach

UTexas:Match
University of Colorado: Safety

Good luck!

Even though you wouldn't be considered a URM I think they'll treat you more like one (because of your unique life experiences)

Bring up SAT to 2250+ and Stanford looks good.

Thanks!...

Can anyone chance me again and suggest some other good safeties (like Boulder) and matches?

just FYI when I mean for 2008, I mean for ENTRY in 2008 and acceptance in Dec of 2007, when I will be graduating...

well if you don't mind going to a big public school, then you should check out University of Washington. It's probablly as much like CU-Boulder as any other state school you will find, and i'm sure it would be a safety for you. I don't know how hard it is to get in OOS, but you would be in with flyinc colors if you lived in WA.

any more chances or opinions?

"Even though you wouldn't be considered a URM I think they'll treat you more like one (because of your unique life experiences)"

I don't.

SATs too low for Stanford and Princeton, are you intl?

Yea, although I am mostly applying to Stanford and Princeton to see if miracles can really happen. Really more interested in the other 4

Well, i dont really see anything baoutyou that stands out. These days, for the top ~20 schools, there are more than enough 4.0 GPA and 2250 SAT students. With this said, even with a retake SAT you lack a significant hook.

Could you chance the other 4 though?

dont give your opinions all at once!!!

Can anyone more give chances for all of those?
Also, any opinions on the University of Iowa and Hawaii at Manoa as safeties and possibilities for scholarships?

Stanford (legacy, scea) - slight reach
Princeton - far reach
University of Michigan: match
Brandeis: match
UTexas: safe match
University of Colorado: safety

anymore chances?

if you bring up that SAT score to at least a 2200, you're looking good at stanford with that legacy...it's do-able...i brought myself from a 2160 to a 2380...do the same, and you'll go from a 1930 to a 2150. good luck!

anyone else?

don't be shy..

no one? c'mon

last bump..
