I got my SSAT scores back and only got a 64 percentile. How important will this be in whether I do/don't get into schools. I'm applying to Hotchkiss, Berkshire, and Taft for my junior year, I am currently a sophomore. Will my score be a deal breaker?

May I ask when did you take the SSAT? My daughter took it on Nov 17 and we did not get the results yet. Thanks

I took it October 14th, but the results were up on the seat website about 2 and a half weeks after I took it. So your daughters scores should be up soon.

Thank you, kittycat1. I just found out that the results from Nov 24 are posted but the ones from Nov 17 are still not posted. Very strange.

it depends on what extracurriculars you have. ssat scores are a factor in the admission’s process, but not a big one.

That SSAT score will hurt you a bit. Hotchkiss and Taft both usually like at least a >75%. This is a very low score for these schools… but you still have a chance!

When I took the test I had very little time to prepare. But I’m hoping that my other grades and extracurriculars will out weigh my SSAT score.

A 64 percentile is around the lowest SSAT score you can have to have a chance at getting in to Hotchkiss as a freshman. Ive heard about many people getting into Hotchkiss or Taft with this score as a freshman, but don’t know about as a Sophomore. I know Taft doesn’t even look at the candidate if their SSAT is under 50 percent, which means you have a chance! You probably have a good chance at Berkshire, though! Good Luck!!

Thank you for the help! I really appreciate it!
