Chances with very unusual EC situation

<p>Hi, and thanks for looking. Stanford has always been my dream school. I go to a selective private that sends at least a couple kids to Stanford every year. My grades and scores are pretty good, but I am kind of lacking in the EC department because of my sport. I have been playing for 12 years (shows commitment?) and I am nationally ranked (top 170), but just not quite good enough to be recruited to play at Stanford. I spend about 20 hours a week practicing and about 5 hours a week working with younger players.

GPA: 3.98 U/4.6W (4.8W jr and sr year)
ACT: 35
SAT: will not send
SATII: 780 USH, 770 Chem, 740 Math2

<p>Stanford isn’t an Ivy. But with a 5% acceptance rate, your odds certainly aren’t better than 5%. You seem honestly, about average for their pool. So assume your odds are 5% and go forward.</p>
