Chances with WPI?

Hey I am interested in applying for WPI and RPI. I got a 28 on the ACT's (28-math, 31-english, 26-rding, 9/12 on essay) and 1760 on SATs (630-math, 610- writing (essay-10/12), 520-rding (yeah that's bad)). My gpa: ~3.75. I realize my SATs werent that great with that rding score. First, do you think I have a chance of getting in to either schools with these scores? If not, then should I retake the SATs?

I doubt test scores are the only things they’re looking for…

Your 28 ACT is exactly average for RPI but your SAT is almost 240 points below average for them. You may want to send in the ACT or retake the SAT if you think you can improve significantly. Your GPA should be good enough. All in all you have some chance to get in but
I could see you being rejected as well.

WPI is not quite as competitive but is not a sure thing by any means.

If you have good EC’s be sure to list them in detail to boost your chances. Good luck!! Both are great schools especially RPI.

Thank you!
