SAT IIs: Soon to be taken in Literature and US History, projecting around 650+ for both.

What do you think my chances are, considering I'm going into Music Ed and plan on applying ED? Thank you so much. :]

i usually am the one asking for chances, but i'd say you MUST get your SAT score up to at least a 2050 depending on the college in NYU and your EC's could use just a little more leadership

i concur, you have to get that SAT past 2000, or at least get your math+verbal above 1300 if thats not the case yet.

and really focus on a couple ec's and don't do everything. heck I don't even think its good to list every single ec you've done on the application, but i wouldn't know for sure....

Are you really quite sure that I'd need an SAT score that high? It's not like I'm applying to Stern.

average nyu sat score from 2005 (i can't find 2006's) is a 1330. of course 50% have lower than that.

Steinhardt is slightly easier stat-wise to get in than CAS or Stern, but you do want to shoot for a 2000 at least, at least for peace of mind's sake. :)

Your grades are very good, however. And I think as a music major, they'll put a lot of emphasis on your audition and your awards for music (I'm guessing here, but it sounds likely). And since you did All-County (is that like Regionals or All-State?) and recieved multiple awards, I think you have a good shot, especially since you're ED. Just get those SAT scores up a little bit if you can.

You could try taking the ACT to see if you would score higher.

Essays Essays Essays, write a good one and you should do fine =D

Thank you, guys. :]

I have an ACT question. Would you say the math is more difficult on the ACT than the SATs? I took a practice test on the English part of the ACTs and it was extremely easy for me, and my Verbal score on the SATs were good as is. But Math is my hardest topic. Also, could you explain what the science questions are like?

I think I'll give the ACT a shot in October, since I heard you can cancel your score if it's not very good.

Never taken ACT math, but SAT I math is a freaking joke.
