What are my chances of getting into either????
Any other schools around that area that may fit my criteria???

While your GPA and class rank are competitive, you would need to increase your SAT score by at least 200 points to have any chance at all for admission to UC Irvine. California State Universities (CSUs) such as Cal Poly Pomona do not count the writing section of the SAT and use only the total of your CR + Math scores in calculating your SAT score. In your case you have a 600+470 = 1070 which is probably close to the average for accepted Cal Poly Pomona applicants. If you were applying from the Cal Poly Pomona “service area” you would have a very good chance of being accepted on the basis of your GPA. However, you are obviously not applying from their service area (Being out of state is not nearly as big a disadvantage as being out of service area in admission to CSUs) and you may have to meet higher standards than in-service area applicants to be accepted. If you could raise your CR+M SAT score by about 50 points you would probably have a decent chance of acceptance at Cal Poly Pomona.

UC require that if you take SAT II for math, it must be Math II. Also the average SAT for UCI is 1873, so I agree for that you might need to up your score quite a bit.

Does Pomona go by rolling admissions? and by how much do you think I would have to up my score to get a pretty good chance?
