chances?

Hello all,

I will be applying to cornell, columbia, upenn and carnegie mellon, for engineering. But my math sat score is terrible and its not that good even in my classes at school (barely passed ap calc last quarter..and colleges are gonna see that :( )...I just took the sat math 1 and chem, and i'm not very confident about either one. I really want to get into these schools but i don't know if i will. So it'll be awesome if you can evaluate my chances. Thank you.

ps- i'm a girl, and african american...if that helps.

GPA - Unweighted: 0.00
GPA - Weighted: 3.70

Class Size: 950

Scores:

SAT I Math: 620
SAT I Critical Reading: 680
SAT I Writing: 760
SAT II U.S. History: 640
SAT II French: 620

Heey!
First thing I will say is chin up even if your chances aren’t amazing try and keep a positive attitude i’m sure you did well in your SAT II’s!
That said
all of those school are definitely High Reach with carnegie maybe being a reach! Depending on your SAT II’s I would maybe not apply to some of them maybe columbia and put in a few match / safety school! That doesn’t mean you can’t apply to some of them but maybe pick a couple of the ones you listed, the ones you want to go to the most and then add some match or safety school! Would recommend some but I don’t really know about engineering!
Good luck though!!

Chance back plz

I think that Cornell, Penn and Columbia are definitely high reaches and that will be difficult.
Carnegie Mellon might be a reach but depending on your grades, ECs and GPA.
I think you might have a chance at Carnegie but I do think you should add more schools onto your list that have strong engineering programs but might be more matches then reached.
Good Luck though. You can always take SAT I in January and send them in with your scores in for your January deadlines.

Again good luck! Keep me posted.
