I have wanted to go to UW my whole life, but the first semester of my sophomore year was bad. I got a few C's, and i went through alot. All other grades have been A's and B's

<p>I think your ACT score may come into play more than your GPA does.</p>
<p>There are so many good students applying it is hard to predict. You have an excellent chance of being successful at UW, but so do many others. Do apply to other “safer” schools as you can’t count on UW.</p>
<p>University of Minn-TC would be a good backup/safe choice with those stats. About 3.5 hours farther drive but cheaper OOS tuition compared to UW. Some degree programs are comparable/closely ranked to the quality that UW offers.</p>
