<p>Just had the idea of joining the coast guard reserves which led me to try my chances at the coast guard academy!</p>

<p>Yeah, it is a bit of a reach. Are you the same Jimmy who posted the interview guide in the MIT forum? Anyway, your sats are a little low. Try for 700+ in each part if possible. Also, you aren’t quite in the top 10% (which really would help). Your athletic ecs are good, but more leadership/initiative would help. Fortunately it appears that you are taking one of the toughest courseloads available, which shows that you push yourself. Unfortunately your stats might keep you out of the running, but good luck to you.</p>
