Chances?

Illinois resident
White Male

Unweighted GPA - 3.77
Weighted GPA - ~4.07
GPA has increased every year from about 3.5 unweighted to what it is now (I know grade trends are important)

Class Rank - My high school doesn't release their class ranks, but I'm almost positive I'm in the top 20%. Class size is about 650-700 students

ACT - 29 Composite

AP Exams I will take:
AP U.S. History
AP Government and Politics
AP Psychology
Maybe AP Calculus for possible engineering?

Extracurriculars:
Football (Freshmen year only)
Lacrosse (Captain, Varsity)
Community service of 300+ hours throughout high school career (Camp counseling at local fitness center summer camp for 3+ years, which is probably about 200 of those 300+ hours)
Volunteered at a Christmas Food Bank for two years
Volunteered at a Chicago-land area Special Olympics
Bell Ringer for The Salvation Army
Key Club
NHS

Have many options for recommendations, so I shouldn't have any problem with this

Major: I have many that I'm interested in and I know engineering is very hard to get accepted to, but mine include Political Science, Computer Science, Marketing/Business, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Criminology, Sociology, and Psychology (tell me which one I would have best chance at. I would honestly love to be in any of these)

Again, I'm not really sure about my class rank but I feel that's where I most likely fit. Since I'm a junior, my GPA and class rank will most likely go up as I progress through my final two years of school.

UT is easily my first choice, but if I get rejected I have other great options.

Please give me any feedback! I love UT and I'd absolutely love to go here!

Anybody…? I’ve done like 6 of these threads and have yet to have anyone respond. Any feedback would be awesome!

I think that as of now, you have a decent chance of getting in. The only think holding you back is the class rank. Your ACT score is good, but is not over the top enough to balance out your rank. Since you are OOS, if you can pull the rank up to 8-15%, I think your chances go up two-fold. regardless, 30/70 chance in engineering, 60/40 chance in all other majors.
