GPA Breakdown:
Freshman: 3.5
Sophomore: 3.5
Junior: 3.7

Intended Major: Comp Sci and minor in management

You have good chances at WPI. Increased SAT score will result in better scholarship chances. Anyways you will still probably get some kind of financial aid. Your EC’s seem very fine. The only weakness would be your SAT and to a small extent your GPA.

AP Calculus would help also. After all, it is an engineering school and the calculus is critical knowledge for most (all?) engineers.

I just got in with a 1880, 3.3uw, but am an eagle scout and member of a first robotics team. I think you have a solid, if not almost garenteed shot, to get in. I applied, and got in, for comp sci.

Guaranteed is a bit too strong given what is herer though I think chances are good. GPA is below average (3.8 W is average) as is SAT score (1300 CR+M). But then, 50% of students who enroll have below average stats so that isn’t saying much.

However, I think chance threads are often not too meaningful because there are many academic and non-academic factors that cannot be determined by a chance thread such as essays, character, and ability in specific subjects as well as recommendations. Those who are borderline but have special qualities that the college wants will be accepted.
