I've been looking at other people's threads, and they have tons of leadership and awards. My school doesn't offer any opportunities to get awards. Does anyone have any options on alternative ways to get awards or put in that section of the application?

anyone???????????????

Um, you're gonna have to go out and look for them. They won't fall into your lap. A lot of these things (especially research) rely heavily on self-determination. Do you have a good science teacher who might sponsor you in some research? My Biology I Honors teacher has students win national and state level research awards practically every year (including me, 3rd place national winner for an NSIP research paper). But we have to express interest in it, is my point. Get online, look at governor schools, leadership conferences, etc. Even the most basic ECs should offer SOME leadership positions (heck, the Trekkies gotta have a president) and awards. Does your school have academic letters, PTA essays, etc.? Just dig around a little bit. You'll find something.
