Chances?

I’m interested in going to Auburn but do not know what my chances are getting in are. I only have 15 credit hours now with a 3.46 GPA in the Community College I go to but I plan on having a 3.5-3.6 GPA range after this semester.

I am looking to get into the Spring semester of 2012, so I know I’m a bit early but my thing is is that I am a Texas resident living in Gainesville, Florida. Does Auburn decline a lot of people if they are out of state?

And assuming I keep a 3.5-3.6 and have 45+ credit hours when I apply, what are my chances of getting in and transferring? I am also an Eagle Scout as well, so hopefully that should help my chances but will it?

Thanks!

My d will be a freshman next year at AU. My sense from visiting the college twice is a more wholistic approach to the student than other colleges. What else are you doing in your life besides school and scouts? I think about 40% of the freshman students are out of state overall but it depends on the specific school. My friend’s daughter is transferring in to AU next fall from UCF as a junior but she was in frequent contact with the business school office

I am also a hopeful transfer (Fall 2012). Although I am currently maintaining a 4.0, I’m upping my ECs to help my chances for the Pharmacy school as well (and because I feel the need to get more involved in my community before I leave for Auburn). From what I understand, they look highly on leadership positions, so I’m applying for VP of PTK and a Diplomat position at my CC next month. They do have a pretty high acceptance rate of out-of-state students from Georgia and Florida, so I wouldn’t see that as a problem. Best of luck to you, and maybe I’ll see you there next year. :)

@abtsmom: I am an assistant manager at Advance Auto Parts so I hope that will help my fundamentals. I also plan on going in as a sophomore or a junior, depending on the credit hours I will have:)
