<p>Yale, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, JHU, Cal:</p>

<p>4.17 GPA (weighted) 11 APs, 6 college-level courses: transferable to Cal, usable for adv. standing in all others. 6 AP tests taken, 5 5's and 1 4. Lots of extracurriculars, show focus and diversity of interests pursued. Essays not scintillating, barely qualify as witty. ACT 32, SAT 2290 essay 11. Lots of community service, teachers think I'm great.
English is not my first language, single-parent family, low-income.
What do you think?</p>

<p>Oops... forgot to say. SAT IIs: 2 800's, 790, 2 750's, will take again in Nov. Won lots of awards in regional competitions.</p>

<p>Well, I'll get more specific if people ask... but I have such a long list that it would take a really long time. Um... Science Olympiad 6 years, won medals and ribbons all years. Regional Science fair: 2nd and 1st places, plus award from regional Dental society. Peer tutoring center, 72 hours of work. Hospital, museum: about 100 hours total. Took summer courses in medicine from JHU's talented youth program, one on JHU campus, UCSD campus. Played clarinet for 7 years. Band officer. Got music letter. Played piano for 7 years, MTAC level 6 when last certified. Basically, typical Asian.</p>

<p>GPA now 4.5 or so weighted. Essays are about dedication to medical field- 13 years. Supplemental letter from scholarship counselor who has known me for five years.</p>
