Thanks in advance! Any input is appreciated!

Unfortunately, your chances don’t seem all that high for Princeton. You will definitely need that 34+, since your white. Your EC’s are alright, but you don’t seem to be nationally or regionally recognized in a particular area. You would have a really good chance at other top universities, but it’s a serious long shot for Princeton. Unless you have “hook” that you haven’t told us, it doesn’t seem like it’s happening.

But what’s your Major? If you’re doing an unusual major, your chances will increase. An Asian girl in my school got in last year because she majored in something unusual (I don’t remember what, something about Multicultural stuff). Her stats were average for a Harvard applicant (2310 SAT, 3.93 GPA, Salutatorian, Class President), but her major was something different.

I already said: engineering. And I’m a girl. Hook!

omg FIRST robotics? what team?
and that’s impressive–try to get a leadership position in that!

Haha idk if I can! I joined this year, whereas some people have been doing it since freshman year
2960!

Ask then to be an assistant to the captain!
and I’m on team 1! like legit! We went to Kettering, Wayne, and EMU! sorry, I kinda freaked out when I saw FIRST!

You’re from MI?! You guys weren’t at Troy Athens a couple weeks ago were you?

You are in as an URM! Seriously, at this point you only seem to have a reasonable GPA (3.87 is not that high).

Without additional test scores and a rank, hard to judge. Does Princeton usually select people from your school? How do you measure up against current/past acceptees.

Wait, do you mean if I were a URM I’d be in?

I would have to agree with Shaggy007. You scores aren’t good and your ECs are scattered. Additionally, your activities hardly line up with your major, so it’s not a hook at all.

I would say pull up your Act and you have a shot. National ranking might help if you can-any chance you are a GS and can earn gold award?

I haven’t gone through the college process yet, but why would scattered EC’s be a bad thing? Wouldn’t it show you have interests in a broad range of areas and are thus ‘well- rounded’? I don’t think colleges are looking for people who only join clubs of a certain area, but idk.

And your chances look fine to me (which again, is not saying much). Again, get the ACT up and do well on subject tests. If you are interested in engineering, I think princeton pretty much requires you to take the math one and either physics or chemstry.

VAMom, what’s a GS?

The number of years includes senior year (planned), correct?
Your chances aren’t too high, as others have said. Your academics are on the lower side for Princeton (GPA & ACT). Even if you pull your GPA up a bit and improve your ACTs to your goal, your ECs don’t quite stand out. Although your community service and summer activities seem decent, there doesn’t seem to be a common link between any of your activities or any clear passion. Have you earned any awards in any of your interests?

That said, strengthen your academics, retake your ACTs, and try to do the most you can in your activities. If you think it’ll help, perhaps quit some of the less rewarding ones to make more time for others you have greater interests in. And do apply if the fee isn’t an issue! A small chance is still a chance.

Edit: GS = Girl Scout
