I plan to get my 2 teacher recs from my AP Bio teacher and my AP Lit teacher (I will have them again next year). I am pretty confident about the essays I’m planning on writing (or I at least have a solid idea of which topics I will emphasize  ). I am also planning towards a Pre Med track but not 100% decided.

I have 3 top schools I am really focusing on: Brown University, NYU, and Columbia University.
I’m thinking of applying early for one of them if I can narrow it down to just one. I seriously like all of them equally so i’m having a hard time, any ideas? People all around me have just suggested that I apply RD because I have a good chance, but I’m still unsure… Chances, tips, suggestions, are all welcome  Thank you!

Maura,
I noticed you mentioned being a National AP scholar. However, the amount of AP’s you listed do not add up to what would qualify as a National AP Scholar. Could it be that you failed to list others ?

Also, do ensure you have safety schools. You’ve only mentioned three, two of which are reaches. I also urge you to look around this forum regarding NYU and FA packages.

I do not chance, but your post is looking good

Thank you! And I’m sorry for the confusion, the AP scores I listed were only the ones that corresponded with the courses I took in school. I did self study more than what I listed above. Sorry that that wasn’t clear! To elaborate on the URM status, I am an African American student.

Brown, NYU, and Columbia are my “dream schools”. I am planning on applying to those (if I don’t apply to any early), 2 matches, and 2 safeties.

Question is, which of those 3 should I apply using early action or decision? I really equally love those three equally…hmm.

Oops. I received a 5 on the Physics B exam, not APES. I did receive a 5 on APES but via self study, I’m not really sure why I listed that…haha

Also I noticed you said 2/3 were reaches. Would you consider NYU a match for me?

Question: What kind of SAT II scores do u need for Brown in US HISTORY? IN MATH II? IN CHEM? I know the percentiles are different than for the SAT I and I am finding the whole thing confusing. Yes, I am now that guy that everyone rolls their eyes at and says: GET A LIFE. HELP!

Maura, I’m a bit confused. If you’re a junior (as you say you are in another recent post) and your school doesn’t have AP courses for anyone except juniors and seniors, how do you already know your scores for five AP tests? The results for this year’s tests aren’t out, and last year you would have been a sophomore. And if you’re a senior, why are you asking anyone to chance you when you should have picked a school by now?
