I received a 29 on my ACT score recently. I'm not really proud of it. I'm certain I can do better, but I was wondering where that puts me as far as colleges go. I'll admit, I'm a slacker. Again, not something I'm proud and it is something I am trying to work on.

My GPA hovers around 3.0, although I could easily have a 100% in any of my classes if I had given a damn and learned work ethic. My future plans are to get a PH.D in math or physics. I wouldn't mind being a professor or doing some research.

So:
ACT: 29
GPA: 3.0
Extra Work: Nonexistent
Sports/music: Cross Country, Swim, Tennis, Jazz band

I wouldn't mind getting into a decent middle of the road college. I am thinking University of Wisconsin or something similar, and if I did well there I might transfer to a college that is more suitable to my intelligence. (I try not to be arrogant.)

What are my chances? What can I do for the end of my junior year to the beginning of senior year to try and salvage anything?

I admit that I am ignorant to the college world in general, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
