Hi, im a female freshman in the US.
with this resume, what do I need to improve to get into westpoint? what are my chances as of now?

It seems that you’re very involved - which is great!

I’ll touch on what you can work on for athletics: Earn varsity letters and try to obtain captaincy in at least one sport! The vast majority of accepted candidates have letters and are captain.

Keep up the good work, and good luck!

i was capitan of jv lacrosse freshman year. how about grades? and do you know if its easier or harder to get in as a girl?

JV is great but it’s better to be Varsity Captain! Varsity letters are very valuable in the admissions process.
Your grades look good - class rank is important too though. If EVERYONE in your school has super high grades, it isn’t quite the same.
I wouldn’t say it is easier, but one difference I can think of is the CFA. The standards are different for males/females.

Haha I started the first lax team ever at my school and we only have jv this year! Next year hopefully we’ll have two teams including a varsity! Thank you for your insight

My cousin went to Miss Porter’s school in Connecticut, and she got mostly Cs (not a great student) and was granted admission to West Point. But this was only because she was a sports star. Very athletic! Maybe if you get into West Point you’ll see her :+) she’s the captain of the lacrosse team there. That’s what got her in for sure, and the fact that she came from such a high class prep school (first student in the history of Miss Porter’s to go to a Military school!) Which I’m sure they thought was pretty awesome. But her brother (my other cousin) was the exact opposite. He went to Choate Rosemary Hall, and was a straight A+ student in all honors and AP courses, and was absolutely NOT athletic. He could barely get any shots in Basketball, and ran the wrong way during soccer games lol, and he got in. Which in this case, was the fact that he got such amazing grades and came from such a rich, prep school. So all in all, West Point will take a sports star with average grades, or a genius non athlete. In your case, you’ll get in both ways ;+) Good luck!!!
