you’re not a sho-in, and you’re not a shoo-out. i guess i’d say your stats are a little below average. since you’re coming from atlanta, you prob have competition at your HS, which makes it a little harder. if you can retake the SAT or even take the ACT and score just a tad bit higher, you’d be on target. otherwise, continue to show interest. apply ED! (if you can) good luck!

I actually think you’re in pretty good shape! Don’t get so down on yourself! I think you have a solid shot at all of the schools on your list. What you can really do to make yourself stand out is have some outstanding recommendations and Essays. (I cannot emphasize this enough, an AMAZING essay could be the difference between admission/denial in a couple of the more selective schools) Maybe take another SAT subject test as well? If you could really play up those mission trips you did and how you grew/developed because of them than I think you’d be in decent shape. Wishing you the best of luck!

^ Really? I feel like Emory is a reach for me because of my test scores. Thanks for the advice though, and I realize that I need to write great essays in order to improve my chances at the more selective schools.

Your test scores don’t stand out, but they are within the range of accepted applicants. I don’t think your test scores will make or break you, so don’t worry.

^Thanks. I’m hoping so, because tests give such a narrow view of a student.
