Hi I go to a well respected private school. I have a 3.5 gpa, 1710 on my SATs (620 math, 600 writing, 490 reading), and good extracurriculars. Do I have the chance of getting in?

Well Im going to start off by saying this - your being WAY too vague. What exactly are good extracurriculars? Good is a point of view. Do you have a lot of ECs, or a few you are very passionate about? Do these ECs impact your school, your community, your family? Definitely need more info.

On to the stats

While your GPA is right on target with the listed average, which is about a 3.54, your SAT score is very low. BUs 25th - 75th percentile SAT scores are 1770 - 2010

Your 1710 is probably at about the 15th percentile, which is not good.

Since your GPA is only at the 50th percentile, it will not overshadow your SATs. What’s worst is that you did so poorly in critical reading. A 490 is below the national average; You at least want to match the national average in every section. That is just a rule of thumb

Judging by your low SAT, average GPA for BU, and ambiguous ECs, Id say right now you have a slim chance of getting in.

But who knows - maybe one of your ECs is curing cancer, or traveling to the moon
