chances for U of Michigan

I go to a all girls catholic private school.
It's an academically super competitve school, and about 80% or my classmates are competitive.
My school does not offer as many AP courses because it's a small school.
Religion class in mandatory so it prevents us from taking a different course.
I believe they have connections with U of ND, Boston College, Loyola Marymount etc

I have a 3.8 unweighted GPA, 4.06 weighted GPA (if I do the A-G requirement)
2000 SAT
28 ACT (retaking it in september, taking classes over the summer so hopefully I get at least 31 or 32?)
SAT IIs: Math II - 760, Bio-E - 610 (retaking october), Korean - 800

EC:
-Student Council (9th, 11th and 12th couldn't do 10th b/c I trasnferred to a different school)
-Volunteer at a hospital
-TA for Korean School
-VP (first year) President (second year) of Youth Council (church)
-Agape Youth Group Leader
-CSF (3 years if I include the upcoming senior year)
-NHS
-Advisory Committee at my city's teen center
-Volunteer Group at my city's teen center
-Piano (12 years)

Awards:
President's award (100+ hours of community service)

Other:
-I want to major in business/marketing/accounting/finance.
I am aware that some UCs do not have business schools, and for those, I'm thinking of either applying undecided?
-I'm international (came here in 2002)
-I live in CA

^^i see u also posted this in berkeley’s forum lol. the only thing that u need to work on (besides your essays which need to be superb) is your SAT/ACT score. they need to be raised to give you a good chance. your act score puts you in the bottom 25% of all admitted students, which definitely puts u even further into the bottom 25% for OOS students because it is easier to get into uofm instate. also, michigan schools do not do the a-g requirement stuff that the UCs do. just an fyi.

Apply and see. Do early action because your chances are higher. Yes, retake your ACT, it’ll give you a much better chance. My credentials are very similar to yours and I got in, i’m also a female minority, but i’m in state and come from a single parent family and I’m a first generation college student.

u shud be fine, write good essays and have good teacher recs

Your stats/EC’s look fine except for the SAT/ACT score which I’m sure you can improve. Michigan cares a lot on SAT/ACT and your GPA. Your 3.8 GPA is definitely a bright spot. If you bolster your EC’s in some way and improve your test scores I think you’re IN.

Right now, with your current stats you’d be a slight reach. However, I’m sure by the time you apply your chances will increase a lot.

“Religion class is mandatory”

Sounds lovely…

Raise your test scores mainly. Idk if being a female is any boost at Ross. But I guess your applying to LSA so it doesn’t matter.

I think you are fine. If you can get your test scores up somewhat that would be ideal. Good luck.
