Chances?

<p>I want honest responses. I am a 3 year graduate, but I made this decision late and missed the Rice deadline. I can either go to UT Dallas this fall, UT Austin in spring, or attempt to get into Rice for next fall.</p>

<p>SAT: Taken once
CR: 720
Math: 670
Writing: 780</p>

<p>Junior year schedule:
AP calculus (A in class, 3 on test)
AP English (A in class, 5 on test)
AP Psychology (A, 5)
AP US History (A, 3)
AP Human Geography (A, 4)
Pre-AP Chemistry (A)
Pre-AP Physics (B, kicked my butt!)</p>

<p>No senior year.</p>

<p>Rank: 28/570. GPA: 5.0/6.0, 3.9/4.0
I switched from a non competitive school with few advanced classes to a competitive school that has weighted GPAs so I kindve got screwed haha. 1/240 at my old school though</p>

30 Hours with Marine Moms of Houston
10 Hours at Good Will
10 hours Fashion Show</p>

<p>Extra: Went on school trip to London, Paris, and Rome in summer 2011
Got accepted into the Rice for High School Students program but couldn't afford it</p>

<p>Should I hold out for Rice or just go to UT? Thank you!</p>

<p>I think you have a reasonable shot at Rice if you’re doing something meaningful during your gap year. If you don’t really have something to do that’s worth doing (and worth doing from the perspective of adcoms, too ;)), just go to UT.</p>
