Reflection
•Strengths: Leadership, Experience, Recommendations’, and Extracurricular
•Weaknesses: Most academic related things.
•I know my grades aren’t the best neither is my ACT score, but the reason for that is because I was always busy with school, and extracurricular activities. And that isn't an excuse for why grades are bad, but hopefully they'll look at that, and give it some consideration, And it wasn’t like I joined every club available just to be in them, I was an active member of each one, and I have leadership roles in many of them. I don’t know if my extracurricular will balance out my academics but do you think that I have a chance at all? Also I’m great at interviews so hopefully I nail that too.

To clarify, are you sure what forum you posted this in? If you’re applying to UofO and not the Honors College (which you have a fair chance of getting into), then you’ll invariably get accepted.

(In regards to the upper tier universities, you’ve got pretty good extracurriculars. It would be nice if you had something that really stood out. At the moment, it’s several great positions in good clubs, but nothing that other applicants to other top tier universities can’t boast. Your academics are certainly your weak point. The ACT is on the lower end of things, and your GPA is abysmal, even if it’s unweighted. Virtually every applicant will have great extracurriculars and great academics. Unless you have something that no one has been able to achieve, something truly spectacular, then it’s hard to give you a good shot at being accepted. Don’t get me wrong, you’ve still got a chance, and you should definitely apply. You’ve certainly got affirmative action going for you.)

OregonSenior, I can’t agree that the OP has a “fair chance” of getting into the UO Honors College with a 3.06. It’s far more competitive than that, isn’t it? Even UO non honors has gotten way more competitive so a 3.06 is far from a sure thing, although the ACT score, leadership shown, OOS status and URM will help.

OP, you say in your post that Duke is your dream school. Did you mean UO? Or did you mean to post in the Duke forum?

Duke is my top choice school. But I did indeed mean to put this in this fourm! I thought I took out all dike related things but I forgot that one statement sorry! And as long as I have a good chance to UO and not honors I’m glad! Also what is financial adidas life at UO? Especially out of state students?
