You’re pretty much a shoe-in. Have you considered applying for the honors program?

volleyball, there is little doubt that you will be accepted at UD and many other selective schools. At this point, you should (can) focus on either getting into the most selective schools or getting major scholarships, possibly both. I would be interested in hearing what is most important to you. If you can articulate that, I think you find many people who will be willing to give the wisdom of their experiences.

Having said that, I see only one relative weakness in your profile, and that is no mention of any involvement in the arts. Top schools and scholarship committees are looking for that kind of balance.

Thank you so much both of you! Well I know this doesn’t help much but I’m looking into both options. There are highly selective schools that I am really interested in but mostly likely will not be able to afford (not expecting much aid) but there are other schools that I am just as interested in where I am hoping I will recurve some form of merit aid.

As for the arts, I don’t have any ECs but I am taking a class at school this year that’s purpose is developing an art portfolio (mine specifically is black and white photography)

*receive, sorry auto-correct messed up haha:)

Volleyball, it does help to know your plan, which I think is a fine one. In fact, that was exactly what my daughter did. In the end, she passed up offers of admission from a couple of the top schools in the country where she got little or no aid in favor of honors at Udel where she got a significant scholarship. Here are a couple of things I think you should do. Retake both the sats and the acts and submit both. We were very surprised to learn that Udel converted acts to sat scores and then took the best score from either the actual sat or the equalized sat to create a new superscore. I have to believe that they are not the only school that does that. While your act is incredible, there is opportunity to improve a point or two In a couple of the sub-scores. When those get converted to sat equivalent scores, it could make a difference.

The thing that you have to remember is that while your profile is outstanding, there are tens of thousands of students out there whose stats are as good as yours or better. Ten points here or there could make a difference. So don’t let up and seek every advantage you can.

As far as schools go, make sure you look at schools with honors programs. Penn State’s is excellent, as is univ of Maryland’s and Drexel. Maryland and Drexel offer significant scholarships as well. Other good schools that offer a lot of money for top students a university of Richmond, Furman
University, American, villanova, and Loyola of Maryland. I am sure there are many others, but these proved to be lucrative for my daughter.

Anyway, I hope some of this helps…

Thank you so much for all of your insight and help. I really appreciate you taking time to give me this information, and I will definitely look into the things you suggested!!!:)
