chances?

ok--right now i'm feeling semi-ok about getting into nd, but every while i get this nauseating wave of doubt, hehe....jk not that bad, but i just wonder what you guys think.

gpa: 4.0 weighted, 3.8 unweighted
class rank: 7/151
sat: 620 math (i know, ack!), 750 reading, 800 writing
toughness: taken all honors classes thru hs, 11 and 12th grade a lot of dual enrollment b/c i'm in governor's school (i live in VA)--basically, toughest offered, hope to have about 30 c credits when i graduate

grades: here's the rub. most of my grades are As, except B in English in 10th grade b/c i did a home-study course (obviously didn't work out.) last year, C in precal and B in chem. everything this year is fine, though--expect all As for the midyear report.

ECs: varsity soccer last year, varsity academic challenge 11th and 12th grade, involved in church group 9th, 10th, 11th, volunteer camp counselor this past summer, also cared for ill grandmother this summer, national honor society 10th,11th,12th, school/charity fundraisers throughout, painting classes & other art stuff, economics competition last year, volunteered playing flute for a kids' choir 9th and 10th, band 9th grade, won a soloist award @ festival, national merit commended student.

essay: i'm not too worried, i'm an okay writer

rec: i know it will be great

basically, i'm really worried that my grades (and my low math sat) will hold me back. any thoughts? thanks.

Did you take the SAT more than once? That math score and the C will definitely hurt you. The math range is from 650-730. I assume you are not applying as a math or science major. Nothing really stands out in your ECs. I don't get a sense of what your passion is. Try to tie things together in your essay so you come through as a 3-D person to admissions. I'd say you have an average chance. (Don't take my opinion too seriously, I'm just a high school student. Current students and parents will probably have a much better idea of your chances.) Good luck. :)

thanks--yeah, my essay is on the "greatest passion" topic--i talked about art, and really stressed it, so maybe that'll help. thanks for the opinion. anyone else?

I would say you have a decent shot as well (or average, whatever language you want). The SAT is what worries me the most, but your rank is alright so I think you have a shot. It is going to be close though! Good luck!

ill trade you my SATs for your class rank haha

lol if only it worked that way...life would be awesome

i even have an extra score- it has a 700 math so you could use that :)

sure, fine w/ me--i'm actually kind of uspet about my class rank, used to be 4th, but...if u want it, go ahead. i'd sure rather have a 700 math than what i've got now. what's your class rank, just curious?

38/449 yea not so good

i think your in
