Chances?

Not gonna lie, after reading some of these I'm losing a little confidence :/ probably just nerves. Anyway here it goes:
Weighted GPA-3.97/4.33(I think that's the limit)
Unweighted-3.76/4.0
ACT-31 (CR-34, math 28)
SAT-1840 w/o tutor, taking again in three weeks with tutor

Taken only one non-honors/AP (pre-calc) in high school: this year taking AP Euro, Stats, Computer Programming, English 4. Also I'm taking an independent study in Spanish.

Athletics: Started Freshman football/lacrosse, had a terrible spinal injury the summer going into what would have been my first season on varsity and couldn't play really anything competitively until a few months ago (club soccer). This is actually what I wrote my essay about.

ECs-Model UN (leadership committee), Mock Trial (Witness 2 years, lawyer this year), Quiz Bowl (captain this year), philosophy club, chess club 2 years, football/lacrosse/soccer, hours upon hours of tutoring

Academic awards-National Honor Society 2 years-our school starts junior year; and I won a creative writing award

Work-counselor for 4 years at a day camp, worked for my dad's business a lot (odd jobs)
Volunteer-definitely my weakest point: Did a lot of work with my school's amnesty club, volunteer club, worked with temple a lot. around 100 hours

I think you stand a very good chance of a Tulane acceptance. Your ACT score is well with in the mid to high range for Tulane. Your grades are very good with demonstrated rigor in your courses. I would be very surprised if you did not get into to Tulane.

Thanks PBCMom. To be honest my concern is that I’ll get in but not get enough money from the school. As much as everyone says its not about the money, its basically the make or break for me there. Just hoping to get in first though.

Who says it isn’t about the money? College is a value proposition, like almost everything. In other words, I don’t care if it is Harvard. Coming out of undergraduate school with many tens of thousands of dollars in debt is always a bad idea. So I think your consideration of this factor is absolutely reasonable.

Tulane is often very generous with aid, but you will just have to wait and see what kind of package they offer. The merit aid offer will come with your admission, but any need based offer isn’t until springtime. Merit scholarship offers are hard to predict. Based on your stats I think you might get an offer, but I don’t think it will be at the top end.
