Chances?

I applied early to UVA, and was deferred. Wake is easily my number one choice, I visited and it felt perfect for me, but due to financial reasons I have been looking in-state at UVA and William and Mary. Hopefully my being deferred will turn out to be better in the end...

My UVA essays were the strongest part of my application

Thanks in advance!

I am surprised you were deferred at UVA, your stats are very strong. Any idea why? WFU is a good school, I'd say go for it and see what happens.

You look like a good candidate to me...but I'm not the greatest at judging chances.

Sorry about UVA - the chance of getting admitted even instate is really weird and random...

The reason I got deferred at UVA is quite simple actually. Over 50 kids from my school applied ED, and a little more than 20 were accepted. Virtually all of the applicants with a 3.9 or above were accepted, with only one or two outliers (urms). Hopefully GPA is not stressed so much at my other choices...

Sound like a good candidate to me as well. Also, it doesn't matter if you're instate or not (though there are a lot of NCinians at Wake)... the amount you pay is the same. I realize this isn't the case for UVA, though.
