Chances?

I applied early to UVA, was deferred, and am now looking at other schools. I visited Vanderbilt and loved it, not quite as much as Wake but I liked the small city feel it had to it. Hopefully this deferral will end up not being so bad in the end...

UVA deferred you in-state!!
I am shocked

I too am shocked on the UVA. Welcome to the mixed up world of college admissions.
Your qualifications are outstanding and you should be very proud of your hard work. Nontheless, the PC of college community building may not work in your favor at some schools. Hopefully, Vandy is not necessarily one of those.

You are fully qualified to attend anywhere. Good luck, you deserve it.

thanks for all the replies

just wondering, would applying early decision II increase my chances if I have dedicided that Vanderbilt is my first choice now?

it wouldn't hurt. if it is your FIRST choice, I would say do it with no regrets because you have a pretty good chance that you might get accepted.

i'm confused with your IB courseload..
what do you mean 13 IB classes?... like how many IB exams have you/will you be taking, and how many are SL and HL??
