<p>17 year old white Male from West Virginia
3.38 UW GPA
3.63 (approx.) W
SAT 1870 Cr/Ma: 640/620 (dropped to 1810 second time I took it. Ma/Cr - 600/610)
ACT 27 (English: 26 Mathematics: 25 Reading: 28 Science: 27 Writing: 25)
Top 15% of a 280 student class
Taken almost all honors and AP (3 CP total, two this year because of scheduling conflicts)
5 on AP US History Exam (Will take AP Physics and AP GoPo in May)
I plan on majoring in Music Teacher Education</p>

4 Years of Marching Band
3 Years of Jazz Band
3 Years of Key Club
3 Years of JV Baseball (7 years of Little League previous to High School)
2 Years of National Honor Society
1 Year of Symphonic Band
Religious Education (Became a Catholic last year by taking classes every Monday Night)</p>

2 Year section leader for sousaphones in Marching Band
1 Year Tutoring Committee Chair
Group Leader at Vacation Bible School</p>

<p>Academics:
5 on AP US History Exam
3rd place at county science fair and Honorable Mention at Regional fair
Taking AP GoPo online because of scheduling conflicts
2 years of Service Learning / Teacher’s Assistant</p>

<p>Admission is fairly likely. Scholarship, not even close. </p>

<p>To get a scholarship anywhere, you need top stats for that college and your stats aee average at best.</p>

<p>I saw your post on the financial aid forum. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like MSU is financially within your family’s means. As much as I love state, it’s not worth going 100k in debt. I would suggest looking in state or places where you’re at the top of the application pool to find a school that will be in your grasp financially. Best of luck!</p>

<p>Thanks so much! WVU is my in-state option and would be about 10K after the two scholarships I automatically qualify for. That’s probably where I’ll end up.</p>

<p>Is there something in particular that attracted you to State such as geography or program? If so, posting that in the FA forum might give you some schools you like.</p>
