I think you’re a match for SB and Davis, but a low reach for san diego. Your gpa’s holding you back.

Chance back?

we have similar stats! I would say you’re a low reach for UCSB and UCD because of the GPA. UCSD is probably a reach. there’s more to admission than numbers, so there’s still a pretty good chance.
Good luck to both of us! :)

i think SB and Davis are a slight reach but you definitely have a good chance. for those schools your GPA is pretty low, but your SAT IIs are excellent and your SAT is above average. good luck!

Do UCs ever look at 1st semester senior year grades? My weighted GPA was a 4.40 this semester.

No they don’t.

I have similar stats, you have a chance

3.71 10-11 UC GPA
1630 SAT
Various clubs/ sports (president of one)
Only took 3 AP’s and passed one

Current UCSB student

To the OP, I would say you have a very good chance at getting into all three schools. Many schools, nowadays, choose to focus more on EC’s and personal statements. Your accomplishment as an AP Scholar with Distinction definitely helps cover up the slightly-below average GPA. Your volunteer service seems to be on par and your personal statement topics are very original (a good thing). Feel free to private message me if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them.
