Well UW is either #1 or #2 depending on who you ask, but the order is roughly UW, Whitman, U of Puget Sound and WSU. Those are the top 4 then probably Gonzaga, Seattle U then you get a bunch of argument around Western, Pacific Lutheran and Seattle Pacific.

Apart from Whitman, UW is clearly the best school east to Minnesota, South to Berkeley.

I applied to 6 schools, UW, Whitman, WSU, UPS, Seattle U and Columbia.

I’m just really nervous :X there are about 15 people from my school who applied to UW seattle but I know not all of them are gonna get in… and least 4 of them have higher GPAs than me but I have the highest SAT score from my school… >.< does the UW only accept a certain # of people from each high school?

I didn’t graduate HS. I dropped out and got a full-time job. Then I went back to HS/Community College through a program aimed at helping UM (Underserved Minorities) go back to school and I got an Associate of Arts and Sciences and transferred to the UW. I also applied to UWT and UWB as a fallback.

I got recruited at the Phi Theta Kappa Honour Society by a couple different schools based upon my academic record, DePaul, The New School, Columbia…and I got into every school I applied to other than Seattle U. Ironically Seattle U didn’t want to see my HS transcripts so they only saw me as being an A/A- Community College student.

Hence, I don’t have a frame of reference for the HS admissions process. Although I’m sure you’ll do fine and get in.

OOOOH There was a story today in the UW Daily about this topic. Check it out. It may be a situation where they only let in a certain number of people per HS.
