I have a 3.5 GPA
I am in 4 AP classes and have scored 4 or better in them
I got a 2100 on my sat
and a 760 on my US History SAT II and a 680 on my English LIT SAT II
I am in NHS and Leos Club
And I am the captain of Varsity XC and Varsity Track
I am applying early decision next year.
What are my chances?

I think your chances look good. Best of luck.

I would be very surprised if you didn’t make it in. You have great stats minus the not-so-amazing GPA. Still your EC’s look good and assuming you have good recs and good essays I would say you are a shoe-in.

I agree that your chances look good but they would be even better if you could boost that GPA and continue to challenge yourself with a rigorous courseload during senior year. Your standardized test scores are excellent. Smart move to apply ED if you know Bucknell is the school for you - their acceptance rate for ED applicants is well over 50%. Good luck, it’s an awesome school ( I am unabashedly biased!).

Bucknell only looks at math and reading. If you get 1400 out of 1600, that’s good for ED applicant.

That said, your GPA of 3.5 if weighted or unweighted? Out of 4.0 or 5.0 (or whatever).

For instance, if it’s 3.5 weighted out of max weighted 5.0 (it happens if the school puts high weight for honors and AP courses and A+ or B+ get additional points), it’s one story- meaning, 3.5 is a bit weak and will give you some trouble. If it is unweighted 3.5 out of 4.0 scale, it’s a much better number.

Anyway, work on the GPA side.
