Your stats are lower than my D’s and she was rejected. She had awesome EC’s including leadership roles in every one; editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, secretary of the Spanish Honor Society, student representative on townwide board for group that helps special needs individuals (in addition to volunteering weekly in a sports class for children with disabilities), VP of group that tutors/mentors elementary school students, student representative/leader to school safety team responsible for bullying education and creation of assemblies. Also, 2 sports; JV soccer 3 yrs and Varsity swimming 4 yrs. She won the Eisenhower Leadership Award from the US Military Academy at West Point and was also sent to Girls State last Spring. Her essays were excellent, and I assume her teacher and counselor recs were outstanding. She is white and from NJ. GPA 3.81, SAT 2000 (including 750 in writing and she will be majoring in journalism!), 6 APs, honors, etc…

She applied to 13 schools and UNC was her only rejection (still have 4 more school to hear from).
