Thanks for all the info. Does anybody know how successful cornell grads are at getting into med school?

CORNELL'S LESS COMPETITIVE THAN HARVARD... OUTRIGHT BLATANT REMARK LIKE THAT IN A CORNELL FORUM MIGHT JUST LAND U IN TROUBLE BUDDY! who said we're bowin down to u!!! Dude... i'm an international Astronomy Gold Medallist, NTSE scholar, NSTSE scholar, NSTSE scholar, SIA Youth Scholar... and have a perfect SAT score in all Physics, chem, Math 2C!!! Plus, i got 96.4% in my board exams and was amng the top 10 guys in my country selected for NAL Camp!!! Bow down to u! Really? Plus i appld cornell ED and AM GOIN THERE

96.4% In Your Boards?!!??!?!?!?!!!!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN, HOW THE HELL?!??!??!?!?!?!? With those scores and International status, my friends applied to MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Wharton. Except for Wharton they were deferred from the others... One got into M&TL at wharton though... But STILL!!!!! 96.4%??!??!?!?!?

oh ya i forgot, CBSE, not ICSE. Either way, It's great!!!

Yeah, why didn't you apply to Harvard or MIT.
Don't get me wrong, Arjun. When I said that it seems like you guys bow down to me, it was in reference to the very praising remarks. I am not used to getting those in the Harvard forum.
I think that it is pretty much accepted that Cornell's admissions standards are not as high as Harvard's. The acceptance rates show that. Also, look where all the Siemen's and USAMO finalists applied.

maguo, well then why do u even visit the cornell forum... don't get me wrong buddy... but guys at Cornell forum r really nice so they pretty much encourage everyone... if u think that bowin down to u then ur either retarded or have a REALLY INFLATED EGO!!!! As to why i didn't apply to MIT
1) HARVARD SUCKS, MIND U SUCKS BIG TIME FOR engineering

Ya, why didnt u apply to MIT? And ivys - Cornell's the best Ivy for engineering.

ok why i didn't apply to MIT!!!
maguo a smartass like u should have figured out by now that MIT doesn't let internationals apply EA... i wanted my decision in December itself...so if u half an IQ half of what u profess u could put 2 and 2 togather.
2) U think i'm dumb? Dude, I got thru Cambridge university and rejected their offer so that i could go to Cornell.

Cornell's better than Cambridge in engineering. and if i'm not mistaken, (i havnt read the whole thread) maguo's american, so he wouldnt care about internationals.
And Arjun, try to be less condescending...

well MetallicManiac, this mugao dude could be an incy wicy less deregatory abt Cornell... he's got great stats...so cool! So have atleast 1000 others... I know some weird geniuses, me included, who wouldn't go arnd sayin UR UNIVERSITY SUCKS!!!

It's all good, watch, he'll end up here in the fall :p.

And no one bowed down to you, that's a little reminiscent of the Hahvahd arrogance that it looks like you're going to have to let go of.

Maguo, its not like we're against u or somethin... well... to criticize Cornell in a Cornell forum is not well taken... + shed ur arrgance... congrats on ur stellar perfomance... but just remember there r 1000guys like u applyin to universities...i had all those accolade(mentioned earlier in thread) and ask anyone of Cornell CCer...i neve boasted abt them... ask what u want...we'll answer it, sure... but just think abt what u say

All the best... no prisoners taken in the war of the words :D

Ok, lets get this straight.
If you read my post #18, you see that I was just remarking at how complimentary you are of my stats. I never meant to boast of them, ever. It was just a shock to see somebody tell me that I'm a shoe-in at an Ivy after all I heard on Harvard was "You're a dime a dozen" or "Your chances are mediocre at best". I know that I am not the strongest applicant to CU and that there are hundreds if not thousands better than me.
Can anybody contend with the fact that Harvard's admissions are tougher than CU? I never said that Harvard is a better school, just that it is harder to get into. The accept rate is much lower and their average SAT scores are higher.
I do have great respect for you and your stats, Arjun. I would certainly agree that you are a more qualified applicant than I am. Excuse my ignorance of MIT's international admissions policy.
I do very much agree that Cornell is a topnotch school, in the same echelon as Harvard. I first wanted to go there in 7th grade. I didn't apply to Cornell ED because I don't like the binding policy.

its cool maguo...as i said no prisoners taken in the war of word :D
u'll make a great harvardian

Well let me tell you what I think...

Your stats although impressive lack a certain....how do I put it...Oh yes...99 percentile. Although you may view your SAT scores as high the typically Cornell student's scores are higher. Your ECs are quite interesting but has no drive. So basically your just a mindless soul in the deep waters of college admissions. Well all that said you're basically going to get in EVERYWHERE. Hopefully this was entertaining.
