I think the question is, "Why wouldn't you get in?"

Is Wash U your first choice?

No, Wash U is not my first choice. Somebody went there each of the past two years from my school and have both loved it. The only reason why I'd go to WUSTL is if I didn't get into one of my three top schools and Wash U offered me money.
Anybody know about scholarships?

what you just said lessens your chances at Wash U. The school wishes to avoid being seen as an Ivy fallback... Therefore, they tend to accept students who have shown great desire to be there - for the sake of Wash U.

As for scholarships, you can see the information on their website www.wustl.edu - I belive that the deadline to apply is Jan. 1.

Oh, I'm not going to let them know that they are my ivy fallback. I got to meet an adcom, frappier, and I tried to act very interested.

Anybody else know about my chances at a full ride? I applied for Moog and Ervin RD.

I wouldn't count on a full ride. I'm pretty sure you're an average applicant for their top scholarships. No offense. I'm applying for the Compton, but I'm sure I don't have a snowball's chance in hell.

Maguo1, given your stats, you have a very good chance of being accepted RD at Wash U. And if you deign to attend, you might find yourself falling in love with the place. The academics are first rate, the campus is great, the kids are all damn smart, the school's rep is excellent. I have a neighbor going there who loves it. Two of my parent's friends went there and loved it. I've visited the campus and came away very impressed. There is nothing "ivy fallback" about the place at all.

Great post amptron2x... I agree with your tone, and message. Washington University in St. Louis is NOT a compromise. My daughter was accepted ED 1 and it was her FIRST choice. She preferred it over ALL others.

Don't get me wrong! From what I've heard, WUSTL does sound like a great place. I've got two friends that go there. It is by no means an ivy fallback for me. I would easily choose it over some the ivies i'm applying to. However, I think I still have to visit WU before I could make a decision.
Back on the topic of merit scholarships. My two friends who are at WU both were very strong applicants (one I consider stronger than myself), yet neither came away with a cent of merit finaid.

you're in.

Just so you know, Wash U is incredibly selective when it comes to their scholarships. Personality and character are just as important as scores in these applications.
