Chances

I was accepted into UCSB (my safety school) but rejected from UCSD and Cal Poly SLO
Major: Comp Sci
2nd: History

UC GPA 3.87
SAT 1720
SAT IIs: US History (750) and Math II (640)
Rank: 7/500ish
AP Tests: Human Geo (3) Euro (4) USH (5) AP Composition (3)
I AM a full IB Diploma Canidate
ECs:
Treasurer of NHS(member 3 years)/CSF(member 3 years),
Treasurer of Young Republicans Club,
Varsity Swim 2 Years, JV 1 year (took a break during junior year),
Club Swim team (much more rigorous than
Scholar Athlete (highest GPA on male JV/Male varisty) 2 years
Rotary Club "Top 100" recipient
Some more "student of the year/month awards" etc etc.

The major weakspot on my application is the one D (Physics + AP US History + AP English really cut into my studying time the first semester and I didn't adjust quick enough) I got last year in my IB Math SL class the first semester, but I got a C the 2nd semester. This year I didn't take any math courses as I have SEVEN other periods of ALL AP/IB classes.

Senior Workload:
AP/IB Biology HL2 (2 periods)
IB Spanish SL
IB History HL
IB Anthropology SL
IB English HL2
IB Theory of Knowledge

UCI is my DREAM school and really is all I care about, chances would be appreciated.

your gpa is solid for uci, sat score may be a little below the average. IB program does help, and ec’s are good.
The D may end up hurting you, but hopefully since your gpa is still 3.87 with a D it won’t not have too much of a negative effect.
You got into UCSB and generally that is a harder school to get into than UCI so i’d give you a 65-70% chance…

You can check the average gpa and sat score for specific majors here:

Goodluck! Waiting on UCI myself!

I think you have a decent shot because your gpa and sat are kind of average
