is it even worth applying to VT with these stats(any chance)?

im a rising senior in highschool
3.44 gpa.
SAT- 560 reading, 540 math, and 520 writing.
extracurriculars- wrestling, frisbee club, deca club.
ill end up with 3 AP courses.
Legacy- older brother and uncle
thanks guys:)

Everything is on the low end… some are OFF the low end. I’m not trying to be mean, but just the truth. It depends on where you live… if you’re from NOVA, then it’s a long shot, but if you’re from the South/Richmond/VA Beach then you’re probably in the mix.

any other opinions?

Admissions to VT are very regional within Virginia, with some areas such as NoVa being more competitive. Your very best source of information is your GC and Naviance if you have access. Ask your GC what accepted students this year from your school looked like as far as grades, scores, etc. Naviance will give you information over a number a years, and as we know competition is greater each year. The legacy factor (via your brother, your uncle does not qualify you as a legacy) will give you a tip if you are a borderline candidate.

For a broad overview, below is a link to the snapshot of the class of 2016:
