tons of ECs - sports, Band, NHS, Mock Trial, etc

<p>Your ECs sound weak and a 33 is middle of the road for the university. Your GPA is pretty decent. If you write your essays well, you have a shot. The university sees thousands of kids exactly like you.</p>
<p>The only absolute we can offer you is that if your son doesn’t apply, then he won’t be accepted. Unfortunately, chancing on CC is notoriously inaccurate as no one is sure what the admissions counselors look for. Trust that your the admissions committee knows what it’s doing, and that, if your son is a good fit, then he will be accepted. Don’t let chancing based off a few numbers encourage or discourage you – the actual committee will know much more about your son than we do. </p>
