Chances?

Hello all,
I am applying to 5 schools: Stanford, Rice, USC, Univ. of San Diego, and Oregon State Univ. (in order of preference). I know Stanford is a reach, but I might as well try! Plus OSU is auto-admission for me. Lastly, I am applying to the Viterbi engineering school at USC. On to the stats!

SAT:
800 math
670 writing
690 reading

SAT II:
800 Math II
640 Chemistry

ACT: 33

GPA: 4.0 unweighted, 4.23 weighted

Class rank 22/423

AP Tests:
BC Calc:5
AB calc subscore: 5
APUSH: 4

Extracurriculars:
Varsity baseball (lettered, 2nd base)
Recreational soccer in the fall
I tutor students in my school for money

You are a strong candidate for all of these schools. Like you said, Stanford is a reach, only because of your lack of extracurricular activities. But, if you could bump it up before you apply, and write fantastic essays, you have a chance. I would strongly recommend applying to Berkeley and Brown and Duke. You shouldn’t just apply to five schools!
chance back please.

i would recommend, if you’re prepared, taking the SAT again just to bump up your score if you really are dying to get into Stanford. Same with chem score. ACT is great. You may want to include more ECs if you have any or really make those ones you’ve listed shine.

you’ve got great potential. good luck!

chance me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1409730-chance-me-top-schools-thanks.html

Yes, you should definitely apply to more schools!

Okay, thanks for the input. I sort of choked on the extracurricular section. I am also in NHS, Link Crew (senior leadership organization), and the Mu Alpha Theta club at my school.

In regards to other universities, I am seriously considering Cal Berkeley, but I’m a little hesitant due to its lack of financial aid. As for Duke and Brown, I decided I wouldn’t go any farther from home than Rice. (I’m from Oregon.)
