What do you guys think my chances are for main campus?
GPA: 4.0 unweighted
Sat: 1660
CR-560 Math-540 Writing-560
Good ECs
8 honors classes
I intend to major in finance

Also I’m in state if that would give me some advantage.

Your SAT is a little low, but you have a good GPA, and your ECs may help you.

My son got a letter today from the U. of Pittsburgh inviting him to apply with the Pitt Prestige Application. Does this really mean anything in terms of being accepted? Any experience with this letter and application?

never heard of pitt prestige, must be something new. your GPA is great, you should list your extracurriculars. you should also try taking the SAT again to boost your chances, cause with your GPA and better SAT scores you’re set.

I also received Pitt Prestige. I applied. It’s very legit by my research. Apparently you’ve been selected by high SAT score.

Thanks for the responses! However I believe the next SAT isn’t untill late January so I’m not sure what to do as far as that is concerned.

Pitt is rolling admission, so sending in your application in February shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Your 1100 M+CR SAT is just below the 1200 minimum that they normally look for, but you could try submitting your app now and see what happens. You have a super high GPA to balance it out and might still get admission. You could also tell them that you understand your SAT is low and are retesting to get it up but wanted to submit an application now so that they knew you were seriously interested.
