chances?

my school doesn't weigh gpas.. but its estimated to be about 3.3 W (aps: english, bio, us history) currently taking aps: (literature and psychology)
my SAT was about a 1970. my extra c's include tennis and badminton, black belt in taekwondo, 200 hrs in community service, 4 years work experience, and in the summer i go to china to teach english

my stats are low so i'm a bit worried. :(

leafycream…I think your chances really depend on which college within UMinn you’re interested in applying to. Here is a link to the profile of admitted students from this past fall. You can compare your M+CR score from your SAT with the numbers shown for the various colleges, but if your GPA is around 3.3W (what is your unweighted GPA?) it will probably limit your options at the U.

My guess would be that CBS, CSE, and Carlson are probably long shots. CLA, CFANS, or CEHD are probably more realistic options for you. What is your intended major? While it’s always preferable to gain admission to your preferred college within the U as an incoming freshman, there’s always the possibility of transferring colleges after you’ve earned some college credits depending on your grades. Good Luck to you!!

I applied to Carlson as my first choice, but had design as my alternate college. I feel more interested in pursuing design, but to please my parents I put Carlson as my first choice :frowning: But I feel better that I’ll have a better chance at what I really want to do. Thanks for the reply!

my daughter is in Carlson and her SAT score was M&CR 1450 (2190). She is from OOS and many of those kids had SAT’s in the 1400 and above. Carlson has made it much harder to get in. Good lick
