Chances?

Hi.

I'm not the typical Geneseo applicant, because I wouldn't consider myself as smart or as competitive as the rest of you guys. I'd really like to know what the chances of my getting in are though.. :-\

Average: 87.417 / rank: 27/129 (mid-year: 93/94/95.. rank goes up to 15/16/17/18 because of it... gpa up to 88.3-88.5)
ACT: 26 / SAT: 1860

Teacher Recommendations: (2) glowing teacher recommendations..
(1) amazing parent recommendation..
Essay: original, humorous.. very well-written..

Activities

PETA

Peer Tutoring Program Representative/Founder
Senior Representative
Amnesty International

hm so yeah.

I'm a first-generation Latina college applicant. :)
I'm taking the most challenging courses... and always have. :)
The reason my GPA is so low is because I had a year round 70 average sophomore year. Big mistake, I know. Early case of senioritis, but it was soon gone! :)

This one's hard to tell as well.

Average should be at least 90 for Geneseo and somewhat high score in SAT. Teachers recommendations are worth waaaaaay more than parent recommendations. Essay shouldn't be much humorous. It should be written with your writing skills for them to see how good of a student you are to be accepted to Geneseo. Essays count alot in admissions.

I'm glad that your grades went up from 70 to above. Colleges love to see your averages going up as the time goes rather than constant high average.

Good luck!
