I think my gpa is to low and I did get two C's (AP Chem and AP Stats) but the rest are A's and B's

Any help would be appreciated

Your GPA blows. Seriously apply in September, as early as you can. You have pretty much everything else set except that low GPA. Round out this year with the highest grades possible to bring that up for next year.

i think he'll get in anyway, as long as he applies in sept.

Hmm....i feel like this is the type of applicant some Ivies might like, but UM won't. The UM admissions process is VERY numbers oriented, and I fear that your other accomplishments may not come through. Consider private schools; their admissions procedures are more receptive to "out of the classroom" experiences.

AFter reading the articles in the Daily on how adcoms make decisions, I've abandoned the idea that the process is very numbers-oriented. If you can get in with a 20 ACT and rejected with a 34 ACT, it can't be, in kb's words "VERY numbers-oriented." I think he'll get in.

Well...if you believe what the adcoms tell the daily.

:-)

I trust the people in admissions. I mean, they went to court and all, so I figure they're under pretty close watch and wouldn't lie about that stuff. I trust the Daily too. I mean, how can you not trust a publication whose headline today is "Student's Like Sex" with a subtitle "Especially in the graduate library"?

My numbers (weren't bad) but weren't great either...3.6 MichGPA, 2030 SAT, 29 ACT...but my extra currics are great, and I got in after 5 weeks. I really think they look at who you are outside the classroom; they have to if they want to pitch themselves as being a really diverse campus.
in conclusion, i'm no master of admissions, and have no idea what they're looking for on any given day, but i think you have a really good shot if you apply early enough!
